The studio
A small practice, working in public.
Abyssinia Labs is an independent software studio. We build a small number of products at a time and ship them with the care of a long-running practice — across developer infrastructure and creative work, under one roof.
The work we ship is small in count and dense in surface area. A studio that runs two products well can be wrong in two directions; one that runs twenty can be wrong in twenty. We would rather get the small set right.
We design for the person who’ll be using the product on a Tuesday — not the buyer who sees the demo on a Monday. Marketing pages cool down; the tool sits with you for years. Every decision on the landing page must hold up in the daily-use surface behind it, or it doesn’t earn its place.
We separate generated from authored, and treat both with respect. Code our tools write should still feel owned by the people who maintain it — readable, editable, exportable, not a black box on rails. Work our agents draft should carry the byline of the person who approves it. Anonymous output is not a feature; it’s a tell.
Restraint is a position. We use one accent color, one display face, one display headline per page. The discipline gives the work room to breathe — and tells you, when you arrive, that somebody decided what should be loud and what should be quiet.
MCPCloud.sh is our infrastructure surface — a hosted factory for Model Context Protocol servers, paired with a studio for the skills that orchestrate them. It’s built for teams shipping agentic systems who don’t want to babysit boilerplate, but still want to own the code that ships.
Crafty Studio is our creative surface — an AI-assisted production studio for filmmakers. The pipeline runs from idea to publishing, with context accumulating across every stage. Crafty stays in the margin; the filmmaker leads. The byline is permanent and visible. There is no anonymous output.
The two products look like neighbors more than siblings. That is the point. A studio earns its identity from working well across disciplines, not from a single house style imposed on every surface it touches.
Abyssinia Labs LLC is an independent studio. Both products are bootstrapped and run by the team. We’re not in a hurry, and the roadmap is set by what we use ourselves, not by what the market expects next.
If you’re working on something adjacent — a partnership, a press question, or a thoughtful note about either product — write to us. We read everything.
